At 39 years old, I hadn’t seen the inside of a gym since college when I first met Francisco Diaz.  We sat down, talked about my goals, and then he assessed my fitness level.  My goals, of course were for “abs of steel”.  Francisco listened patiently and then began to tell me his approach – To have abs you have to strengthen your core and control your diet, we’d have to work on cardio and strength training, balance, and posture.  We put together a workout schedule, a diet plan, and check in milestone dates. I think he figured out quickly how I need specifics targets to get me motivated.  More importantly, we developed a diet plan that wasn’t terrible.  I didn’t have to give up everything I love, just modify portions and frequency.  He said “I don’t want you to give up things you love because then you’ll be miserable and you won’t do it”.   I loved him right then and there – although he did scare me a bit (in a good way)!  And thus began my journey to a stronger healthier me.  That was 7 years ago.

It was hard.  It was work.  It took a lot of time away from friends, TV and books!  But I saw results so quickly that I was motivated to work even harder.  I increased my PT with him from 2 times a week to 3.  When Francisco changed gyms, I went with him.  I followed him all the way from Rancho Cucamonga to Hollywood.  I am stronger, healthier and happier than I knew possible.  I have done several 5K mud runs and TWO Tough Mudders.

Physically, the affect Francisco had on me is evident.  Just as importantly are the intrinsic changes.  I am more confident, I have more energy, and have been taking on new adventures and challenges, that have opened doors to new friends and opportunities.  Francisco has encouraged and supported me the whole way.

Francisco is not “just” a personal trainer, he cares about your health and you can’t find someone better to lead you on your road to good health.

I have been training with Francisco since 2013.  I was referred to him specifically because I had injured my foot and I was told he worked well with people recovering from injuries. I was worried that I was not going to get back to being able to exercise with my usual fervor. With Francisco’s training, not only did I get back to where I was, but he continues to challenge me. I often leave empowered, as he pushes me to a strength level I never imagined I could have! I often don’t even realize I’m being challenged until I’m in the middle of the exercise. He is extremely attentive throughout my work out, watching to make sure that my form is correct and for signs that my muscles may be fatigued beyond what is normal. He may have an outline of what we are going to do when I show up, but if I mention that I am experiencing any pain, as we begin the session, he will switch things up according to how my body is reacting. Francisco really listens to what it is that works for me; he even incorporated soccer into our workouts because I mentioned that love it! I highly recommend Francisco to anyone at any fitness level.

I can strongly recommend Francisco as a trainer.  First of all, I love the variety he injects into our workouts - a variety enabled by him having been trained and master certified in so many fitness techniques.  He also owns and tests a wide variety of equipment that he brings to parks we train in, in addition to working out with regular equipment at the gym.  So, I always look forward to a our work outs.  Within short amount to time I recognized an improvement in my physique.  And, as we say Downunder, he's a top bloke.   Like I said, "strongly recommend" - @actormichaelteh.
